Sunset of the free
A dhow under sail glides past bisecting the ochre setting sun
Rigs, dugouts bob offshore, whilst locals relax having fun
Warm salty Azure Ocean receives its guests
And historic Stone Town quietens once more begins to rest.
Along the palm fringed white sand beach a young man plays
Skilfully bobbing a football back and forth in all manner of ways
He is happy, with friends, he has no need
For here on this spicy paradise the slaves were freed,
But remember this, the one true paradise to see
Is found only by the one who can set you free
For in him and by him alone you are made free,
Yes, free indeed.
