What it's About

Seems to me we can build our lives on all sorts of things.   John 17.3, Philippians 3.9   Sept 2021.

What It's About

It's not about what you know, what you do, what you've achieved, what school you went to, university, college or your qualifications, your background, what class you are, you were or aspire to be, whether you are the leader or the led, how far up the greasy pole you are, or how well your children and grandchildren are doing.

It’s not what you earn, how much you made, how early you retired, what team or club you belong to, where you holiday, and how many times a year, how many countries you've ticked off, or where you live, how big your house is, or how many lets you have, not forgetting that home in the sun- location location location.

It’s not how much you have in the bank, or how much you give away, how well you have willed to offspring and others, or what extreme challenges you have achieved, what records you may have set. It’s not what you look like, what you're wearing in the latest fashion, what functions you go to, where you're seen and who you're seen with, or what project you're doing.

It’s not, it really isn't about what you're driving, what you're riding, what interests’ hobbies, skills and pursuits you have, the latest project. It’s not even what your health's like, how fit you are, how many tabs you are on, whether you are fit as a fiddle or on the way out as we put off death as long as we can.

And it's not how happy you are and fulfilled, whether people like you or not, how many 'friends' you have, or who’s 'following' you and the company you keep, how much charity work you do, how good or bad you are, or loving, kind you are, or even if you do something great for the world. In the end it’s not,  it’s really not about any of that at all.

But it is about who you know, oh yes, it is about who you know alright, it’s all about that: knowing Him and being found in Him.
