Salt On Your Tongue

They say a walk along a beach is good for the soul. 23rd July 2020. 37th Wedding anniversary, gave Catherine ‘Salt On your Tongue: Women and the Sea’ by Charlotte Runcie, and we walked from Lulworth Cove to Weymouth.

Salt On Your Tongue

Salt on your tongue

Scent of the sea

Sound of the shoreline

Sun and the breeze

Throb of the crab boat

Cry of the gull

Laughter of bathers

Restoring the soul

Mooving of cattle

Bleating of sheep

Song of the skylark

Colours of the deep

Refreshed by rain

Starry mooonlight sweep

Tired from sweet air

And the blessing of sleep
