Reunion

 Reunions are special events, reference points for our lives, even went to a primary school one the other day for all those that left in 1970! These lines came out of a small gathering March 2020.

Reunion

 

Trophies and war wounds, joys and tears,

highs and lows, what’s been achieved, experienced over all the years 

 

Sitting round recounting stories, a level playing field, 

power, positions fading, school day bonding's to each other yield.

 

Pensions promised, hopes for health and happiness, see many days, 

See family flourish, with time again, used in many ways

 

But has it satisfied, where’s the trace from life under the sun, 

And then there's the question to be settled of eternity when earthly days are run.
